Simple ways to remove stains from Cups/Mugs

White and pale colors are popular choices for tea and coffee mugs. However, the stains on these stick out, even more, making them look worse. While some stains are easy to remove, others require a lot of work.

Follow below mentioned simple tips to get a clean and stain-free mug/cup. These tips are super effective in cleaning all sorts of spots, be it an ugly ring at the bottom or the yellowing on the surface.

    • Firstly, you can avoid stains if you give a quick rinse to cups/mugs after every use. Quick rinsing does not allow the tea/coffee stain to settle, even if you don’t wash them immediately after use.
    • One of the simple ways to get rid of stains is Dish Soap. Squirt some dish wash into the mug along with some warm water. The solution should be thick and just enough to cover the stains. Let the mug rest for some time. Later scrub the stain with a sponge. You will see immediate results.
    • Sprinkle some Baking Soda on the stain and add some cold water to it to make a thick paste. Leave it for some time. Later scrub the mug thoroughly with a soft sponge. Due to its gentle and mild abrasive nature, baking soda is very effective in getting rid of stains.
    • Fill your mug with a solution of white Vinegar and warm water. Allow it to rest for some time. Later scrub away the stain. Wash it thoroughly and admire the result.
    • Using Lemon is another easy way to get rid of stains. Lemon is a clarifying agent hence is very effective. Squeeze about 4-5 tsp of lemon juice in a bowl and add 1 tsp of salt to it. Now pour this solution inside the mug and let it rest for some time. Later give your cup/mug a nice wash to get a stain-free mug.
