Home remedies to get rid of Ants

Hello readers, here are few quick and easy home remedies to get rid of ants.

1. Turmeric (Haldi) Powder We all use turmeric powder in our kitchen so it is something that is readily available. Just sprinkle some haldi powder around the box or the object that you want to protect from ants. The ants won’t go near it.
2. Keeping Lemon Peels near the place where the ants enter from or adding a few drops of lime juice to the water that you use to clean the floor can also do wonders because ants don’t like its smell.
3. Another remedy is to mix Water and Black Pepper/ Cayenne Pepper. Spray it around the area where you see ants. You can also sprinkle pepper powder near that area. However, you need to be cautious if you have kids or pets at home.
4. Essential oils have also proven to be helpful in getting rid of ants. Ants hate Peppermint Oil due to its strong smell. You can pour few drops of peppermint oil on a cotton ball and keep it near the area where the ants enter from.
5. Salt is also very helpful in getting rid of ants. You can sprinkle some salt near the area where you see ants. This is one of the handiest stuff available in houses.
6. Mix Vinegar (white) with Water in a 50:50 ratio and sprinkle it at the place where you see ants or the place from where the ants are entering.
7. Some herbs/ spices that are found in our kitchen also come handy to get rid of ants. For example, placing Cinnamon Sticks/Bay Leaves/ Clove (Laung) in the cupboards helps keep ants away because ants do not like their strong smell.
8. One instant remedy to get rid of ants is Chalk. It contains calcium carbonate which helps in keeping ants away. Draw a line of chalk at the place from where you see ants entering or powder the chalk and sprinkle it at the place where you see ants. The use of chalk creates a hurdle in the ants path, thus keeping the ants away temporarily.
9. Use of Kapoor (Camphor) is also considered helpful in keeping the ants away as ants hate their strong smell.
