Aromatize your home with these amazing ideas
A beautifully fragranced home gives you a divine feeling. Personally, I am very fond of it. It adds beauty to a home and gives a feeling of positivity and calmness. An aromatized home not only makes one feel happy and cozy but also lightens your mood, and leaves an amazing impression on your guests.
So, here are some easy and pocket-friendly ways to make your home smell good:

- Take a glass bottle and add about 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil to it. Now add a few drops of essential oil, and place few reeds in it. Check the fragrance to see if it’s perfect for you. If not, add a few more drops to get it right. You can use a transparent glass bottle to make it look beautiful. Use of coconut oil is recommended as it is thin and clear. If you want to use any other oil as the base, choose an oil that is thin, odourless, and preferably colourless.
- Place Orange Slices and Cinnamon Sticks in a pot and add enough water to cover the ingredients. Simmer it on a low flame. This will make your kitchen smell amazing. After it has simmered for some time, pour this concoction is an open jar, leave it on the table, and let the amazing fragrance spread.
- Fill half a bottle with water, add 1-2 tsp of Vodka, and a few drops of Essential Oil like Ginger, Lilly, Mandarin, or Lemon as per your liking. Shake it well to combine all the ingredients. Now place this in different corners of your house in small pots to give out a nice fragrance. If you like to use different fragrances, you can prepare the solutions, store them in different bottles, and label them. Use of Vodka is recommended, as these oils mix well with it, and the fragrance lasts longer.
- If you are not sure about oil, you can use rice as a base. Take half a cup of rice, add about 15-20 drops of Essential Oil, and mix it well. Put this in a fancy bowl, and add a couple of flowers to it. You can use red rice/black rice to make it look even more appealing.
- Take 3 cups of lukewarm water, 1 tbsp baking soda, 3 tbsp fabric softener, mix them all and use it as a spray to get a beautiful smelling home.
- If you are extremely short of time, you can just take a cotton ball and add a few drops of essential oil to it and leave it in an open bowl and make your place smell amazing. You can add some dried flowers to it to give it a beautiful look.
Tips for specific areas in your home
For Shoe racks:

- Take half a cup of Baking Soda, half cup of Arrowroot powder, and about 15-20 drops of essential oil. Place this blend in a small bag made out of muslin cloth, and place it in the shoe rack to get rid of the foul smell.
- Coffee beans/Coffee grinds can help deodorize any space in your home. Put them in an open-air container/muslin bag. It will help you get rid of foul smell.
For the Fridge:

- Vanilla Extract can be used to make your fridge smell amazing. Soak a few cotton balls in vanilla extract and leave them in an open bowl in the fridge. You can also wipe the sheets used on the fridge shelves with vanilla extract to make it smell nice.
- Lemon slices also work well to cover any foul odour in the fridge.
Vinegar, salt, coffee and, baking soda are useful in neutralizing noxious odours around the home.
Some combinations that can be used to aromatize your place:
Choice of fragrance is a very personal thing so it’s best to experiment and decide on the combinations that you prefer. You can go for a simple fragrance that is available or customize to your liking. Some of the commonly available fragrances are Lemongrass, Tea tree, Lavender, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon, Lemon, Cedarwood, Vetiver, and Thieves. Some of the combinations that can be used are:

- Orange, Clove, and Cinnamon
- Lemon, Thyme, Mint, and Vanilla extract.
